In 1963, Pantone's founder Lawrence Herbert created an innovative system of identifying, matching, and communicating colors. He sought to solve the problems associated with producing accurate color matches in the graphic arts community. His insight that the color spectrum is interpreted differently by each individual led to the Pantone® Matching System, a book of standardized color in fan format. |
| The Pantone Designer's Edition guide contains three fan guides, coated, uncoated, and matte coated. This kit is the industry standard for the selection, specification, and ink mixing formulas of the Pantone color matching system. Pantone's research provides professionals with a greater understanding of color, helping them to utilize color more effectively. |
