Use this link to create an xml sitemap. Once generated, download the results and 'view source'. Save file as sitemap.xml. Upload this XML file to the root directory of your server. Now, add the full url to your robots.txt file. It will look like this:

User-agent: *
Disallow:
Sitemap: http://www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml
Now, upload your edited 'robots.txt' file to your server. |
* Note about Open Directory:
If your site has been accepted into the Open Directory (dmoz), it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, Google, Netscape Search, Yahoo Search, and hundreds of other sites. DMOZ makes updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule. |
